Flat Pack Containers That Ship Flat and Assemble On Site
A flat pack container arrives as a bundle of wall panels, a floor and a roof rather than a finished steel box. Your crew bolts it together where it needs to stand. That one difference changes the math on a project: the freight footprint is much smaller than a rigid container, and the finished unit can be taken apart and moved again when the work moves.
Every flat pack unit Atlas carries is new. The range covers steel security booths, chemical stores in 2M, 3M and 4M footprints, self-assembly site offices in the 10ft class (roughly 3.3m x 2.3m), and 4m kiosks with a serving hatch cut into one side. Side-linked bundles are part of the range too, so several units can be joined into one wider working area instead of standing as separate boxes in a row.
Who buys flat pack units
- Security booths for gate houses, yards, parking lots and event entrances.
- Chemical and flammables stores where drums and cans need to sit away from the main building.
- Site offices for contractors who need a dry desk and a lockable door before the trailer shows up.
- Serving kiosks for markets, ballfields, festivals and seasonal retail.
- Linked layouts where one container footprint is simply not enough floor space.
Assembly is the buyer's job
Worth being blunt about. Atlas supplies the flat pack as manufactured and inspected. We do not send a crew to build it, and we do not perform on-site work of any kind. These units are designed for bolt-together assembly using ordinary hand tools, and most buyers handle a small booth or store with two or three people. Larger offices and linked configurations go faster with more hands and a forklift or telehandler to lift panels.
Set your base before the delivery date. A flat pack needs firm, level ground: compacted gravel, a concrete pad, or sound existing pavement. Assembling on soft or sloping ground causes doors to bind and panels to sit out of square. If your unit will get power, lighting or any plumbing, that work belongs to a licensed electrician or plumber and may need a permit from your local building authority. Rules vary by county and city, so check before you buy.
Delivery, Access and Ordering
Flat pack containers travel on the same specialized tilt-bed trailers used for the rest of the catalog. Atlas ships to the lower 48 states at one flat rate per order, shown at checkout. Plan for a driver who needs room to maneuver: a firm approach, overhead clearance, and a drop area free of low limbs, soft shoulders and parked vehicles. If access is tight, tell us before you order through the contact page and we will talk it through.
Orders are handled in one to three business days, with transit usually landing in three to seven. Every unit is inspected before dispatch. Checkout is by direct bank transfer. A 30-day return policy applies, though return freight and a restocking fee may come into play, so measure your site and confirm your dimensions first.
Where to look next
If a fixed steel structure suits you better than a self-assembly kit, compare the guard booths and shacks range, which arrives ready to set down. The buyers guide walks through condition grades, siting and access in more detail, and the FAQ covers ordering questions. Browse the full shop to see current flat pack stock.
