Description
A Working Deck for Skid Steers, Compact Tractors and Mowers
Some trailers are bought for one big job and some are bought to work every week. This new 2024 Rice FMEMR8216 belongs to the second group. A 6 in. channel main frame and a 9,990 lb GVWR produce a genuine 7,215 lb payload, which covers a compact tractor with a loader, a mid-size skid steer, or a pair of zero-turn mowers and the crew gear that follows them.
It also arrives already outfitted. A Stealth-Magnum toolbox, a flatbed spare mount and welded 3 in. D-rings are all fitted rather than listed as options, so the first week does not disappear into drilling holes and buying hardware. The whole trailer wears a complete powder coat instead of paint, which is what keeps a steel deck trailer from rusting at the welds when it lives outdoors year-round.
Twin 5,200 lb cambered EZ Lube axles carry the load and, more to the point, stop it, and the fold-up ramps, five feet long with kickers and spring assist, turn loading into a controlled one-person job instead of a two-person lift. The 2-5/16 in. 14K adjustable coupler lets you set the deck level behind whatever truck you own, which protects what is on the deck and keeps the whole rig steady at speed.

Size it against your heaviest single machine, not your average one, and remember that attachments count: a loader bucket, a set of pallet forks or a full fuel tank can add several hundred pounds to a published machine weight. Once the load fits inside 7,215 lbs, check the other half of the equation and make sure your truck can carry the tongue weight that a 7 x 16 deck produces when the machine sits forward of the axles.
Against lighter 7,000 lb car-hauler style trailers, the gain here is the channel frame and the braked 5,200 lb axles, which is what lets it take a tracked machine repeatedly without the deck flexing. Because the unit is new there is nothing to inspect for wear, so the walkthrough is short: confirm the fitted options are all there, plug in the harness to test the LEDs, and set the tire pressures before the first haul.
