Description
Zinc-Coated From the Axles Up, Built for Wet and Salty Work
Dump trailers live outdoors, haul wet material and spend winters within reach of road salt, which is exactly where painted steel starts to lose. This new 2024 N&N 7 ft x 14 ft is galvanized throughout, so a zinc layer is bonded to the steel rather than laid on top of it. Axles, ramps and rims all got the same treatment. For a contractor or landscaper buying a trailer to keep for a decade, that is the difference worth paying for.
Lifting duty falls to a 12-ton three-stage telescopic cylinder, which raises a loaded bed of gravel, topsoil, mulch or demolition debris without hesitation. The dual-action door gives you two ways to unload: swing it wide and drop everything in one go, or set the 2-way spreader gate and lay an even ribbon of stone as you creep forward. A tarp and roller with an aluminum protector keeps the load contained and legal once you reach the highway.
Supporting all that is a 2 in x 6 in x 1/4 in rectangular tubing frame with reinforced spring hangers on slipper spring suspension, plus two 7,000 lb electric-brake axles. Dry weight is 4,200 lbs against a 14,000 lb gross rating, leaving 9,800 lbs for material.

Sizing a dump trailer is a density problem, not a volume problem. A 7 x 14 box filled with dry mulch will not trouble the 9,800 lb payload, but the same box heaped with wet sand or crushed concrete will pass it long before the sides are full. Work out the weight per cubic yard of the material you move most, and load to the number rather than to the rail.
Also think about where the trailer will sleep. If it lives under cover and only sees dry material, a painted unit costs less. If it sits outside, hauls wet spoil or works through a salted winter, galvanizing pays for itself. As a new build there is no wear to chase, so a check of hydraulic function, battery charge, ramp fit and tire pressures is all it needs before the first job.
