Description
One Sled, Rust-Proof, and Light Enough for Any Tow Vehicle
Crossover trailers exist for the owner who wants a machine covered and locked without towing a full cargo box behind a half-ton. At 600 lbs dry with a 2,200 lb GVWR, this 2024 Mission 60 x 12 sits in that middle ground, and its 1,600 lb payload holds a sled plus fuel, tools and riding gear with room to spare.
What sets this particular build apart is the galvanized package layered on top of the all-aluminum shell. The body already will not rust, and galvanizing the torsion idler axle and the 13 in. wheels protects the two components that spend every winter mile buried in brine spray. That combination is the difference between a trailer that looks tired after four seasons and one that does not.
Loading is handled by a tapered rear ramp with spring assist, which flattens the approach angle so a low-slung sled does not bottom out on the way up and does not fight you on the way down. The crossover canopy, radius side access door and 19 in. x 50 in. front access door mean you can reach a helmet, a gas can or a tow strap without lowering the ramp at all.

The number to check first on a single-place crossover is the 64 in. interior height, because a stock windshield usually clears it and a tall aftermarket one often does not. Then measure your ski stance against the 56 in. rear opening. Mountain sleds with wide skis and long tunnels are the machines that run out of room here; trail and crossover sleds generally slide straight in.
Towing is undemanding by design. A straight 2 in. ball on a wishbone tongue and an idler axle mean no brake controller is required and the loaded weight stays inside what a mid-size SUV can pull, which is the whole point of buying a single-place instead of a two-place box. As a pre-season build it carries upgrades the base trim does not, and the slide track with a ski tie-down bar is the one you will use on every trip.
