Description
Aluminum Construction and a Roof With No Seams to Leak
Water is what kills horse trailers, and it usually gets in at the roof. Cimarron’s answer on this 2013 bumper pull is a one-piece aluminum roof with nothing for weather to work its way through, sitting on an all-aluminum structure and skin that will not rust the way a steel body eventually does. For an owner planning to keep a trailer a long time, that combination is worth paying attention to.
The trailer measures 6 feet 9 inches wide, 16 feet long and 7 feet tall, a size that three horses fit comfortably without making the rig awkward behind a pickup. Ventilation and light come from double Plexiglass slats on the head wall, the rump wall and the full back gate, an arrangement that moves air through the compartment while still shielding horses from wind and rain.
The horse area is finished for comfort and safety: rubber floor mats, rubber-lined rump wall and a rubber bumper cushion the ride, two dividers organize the space, and two dome lights plus load lights over the rear door and on the curbside make evening loading manageable. The dressing room takes care of gear with six hooks, a three-tier saddle rack and a cargo light. Note that this floor plan has no escape door.

The Escape Door Question, and Other Details
Decide early how you feel about loading without an escape door. Many experienced handlers work around it without a second thought, tying and untying from the outside; others consider a front exit essential, particularly with a green horse. Neither position is wrong, but it is a layout decision you cannot change after delivery, so be honest about your own handling style.
Beyond that, a bumper pull rated at 10,400 lb GVWR asks for a properly rated receiver hitch, a weight-distributing setup if your truck calls for one, and a brake controller matched to four braked wheels. On a used aluminum trailer, look closely at the welds around the frame joints and door frames, check the floor under the mats, and confirm the tire manufacture dates, since 10-ply tires can look healthy years past their useful life.
