Galvanneal Steel, Bumper Pull Simplicity, Sensible Money
Steel horse trailers get a bad name from the untreated ones. Galvanneal is a different proposition: a zinc-bonded steel that resists the road salt and standing moisture that turn a conventional steel trailer into a floor-replacement project. This 2017 CM 3HSLBP is built from it, which is why a trailer at this price still has years of service in front of it.
It carries three head behind a properly equipped truck or SUV with nothing more exotic than a ball hitch. For riders moving up from a two-horse, or for anyone who wants quality without a gooseneck-shaped hole in their budget and their truck bed, that combination is hard to argue with.
The Layout in Practice
A full 7 ft interior height suits horses up to about 21 hands, which covers the large majority of riding and stock horses comfortably. The enclosed dressing room, set up on a 2 ft short wall and a 5 ft long wall, keeps saddles, feed and travel gear dry and separate from the horse compartment. Running 3,500 lb axles on 15 in tires keeps the whole rig light and manageable to hitch, park and reverse, and a manual jack and spare tire come with it rather than appearing on a list of things to buy. At 17 ft the box is longer than many three-horse bumper pulls, which gives each animal a little more room to settle on a long drive, yet the 6 ft outside width keeps it tracking neatly behind the truck and easy to back down a narrow lane.
Specifications
- 2017 CM 3HSLBP bumper pull
- Three-horse capacity
- Dressing room with 2 ft short wall and 5 ft long wall
- Galvanneal steel construction
- 3,500 lb axles on 15 in tires

The 7,000 lb GVWR is the number to plan around. Three average horses plus tack will approach it, so check your truck’s towing and payload figures with that ceiling in mind rather than the 3,500 lb empty weight, and make sure a brake controller is fitted and working. On the trailer itself, inspect the floor, the wiring and the lights, and read the date codes on the tires. All dimensions and weights listed here are approximate.
Delivery is part of the price across the Lower 48, with Puerto Rico at a flat $550 and a usual window of 4 to 10 days from cleared payment. If you would like the exact timing for your part of the country, the details are on our shipping page, comparable trailers are grouped under Three Horse Trailers, and the rest of the inventory is in the catalog.
