At 83 inches across, the deck takes a pallet, a zero-turn mower or a side-by-side without the wheels riding the rails, yet the trailer stays light enough for a half-ton truck or a capable SUV to tow comfortably. Dry weight is 1,565 lb, the GVWR is 2,995 lb, and payload works out to 1,430 lb.

Two loading options come already fitted. The 4-foot rear ramp gate drops to a shallow angle that suits mowers, appliance dollies and awkward one-person loads, while the side ramps put a second entry point on the flank of the deck for quads and compact machines when a fence, a building or a parked truck blocks the tail. Owners working in tight driveways use that side access far more than they expect to.

The frame is 4-inch channel with 2-1/2-inch crossmembers under 2-inch treated pine decking, and the whole thing wears a black powder-coated finish that shrugs off chips and surface rust better than sprayed enamel. Pull the 2×2 side rails off and the deck is flat for freight that needs to overhang; put them back and loose brush, bagged soil or hand tools stay where you left them.

Understanding the Idler Axle

The single axle here is an idler, meaning it carries no brakes. That keeps the trailer simple, light and cheap to maintain, and it is entirely appropriate at this weight class, but it does put all the stopping on your tow vehicle. Plan loads around the 1,430 lb payload rather than pushing toward the GVWR, allow longer following distances on downgrades, and do not treat this as a substitute for a braked tandem when you are hauling a compact tractor.

Compared with a 6×12, the extra width and the second loading path make this a more flexible trailer for landscaping and powersports use; compared with a 7×16 tandem, it gives up capacity but stays easy to back and store.
