Wheel wells are the quiet tax on a standard equipment trailer. They steal width exactly where a pallet, a mower deck or a bundle of sheet goods wants to sit. This new 2024 Diamond C GDD23520x102 puts the deck above the tires instead, so the full 8.5 ft width runs uninterrupted for the whole 20 ft length. For contractors, farms and property owners hauling mowers, side-by-sides, building materials and small machinery behind a half-ton or larger truck, that flat plane is the whole point.
Loading stays simple. The 84 in rear slide-in ramps pull out where you need them and tuck back under the deck for the road, and securement is flexible rather than fixed: a 5 in by 2 in lace rail runs the length of the deck, half-inch D-rings anchor chains and straps, and stake pockets with pipe spools handle long stock and bundled material. The lockable tongue storage box keeps binders, straps and a ratchet set dry and out of sight, and the retractable step saves a scramble every time you climb up.

Subtract the trailer from its rating and that is what you can actually put on the deck, which covers a compact tractor, a UTV or two, or a serious pile of material, but is worth checking against a loaded skid steer before you assume. Confirm your hitch accepts the 2 in adjustable channel coupler and that your truck rating clears the combined weight with room left over rather than right at the line.
One deckover trade-off is worth knowing: the deck sits higher than a between-the-wheels trailer, so a low-clearance machine needs the ramp angle checked before the first load. The 84 in ramps help, and anything with decent approach clearance walks up without drama.
