Description
The Home Office Pod is a self-contained garden studio designed to give you a separate, insulated workspace in your own back yard — a room with a door that closes, away from the house. It also works as a studio, hobby room, or quiet space beside an existing building.
What it is
This is a timber-framed prefabricated pod, not a converted shipping container. The frame is termite-treated timber, the exterior is thermo-modified natural spruce rated for outdoor use, and the roof is Colorbond steel sheet. Walls, floor and ceiling are lined in premium plywood. It arrives flat-packed for assembly on site.
Dimensions
- Footprint: 3.67 m deep × 2.47 m wide (approx. 12 ft × 8 ft 1 in) — about 9.06 m² / 97 sq ft, excluding the 0.5 m eave overhanging the front.
- External height: 2.65 m at the rear, 2.75 m at the front (approx. 8 ft 8 in / 9 ft).
- Internal ceiling height: 2.3 m (approx. 7 ft 7 in).
Included

What is not included
- Assembly. The pod ships flat-packed. Assembly is a two-person job for a competent carpenter or handyman, typically one day. Atlas does not assemble or install the unit.
- Electrical connection. The junction box is fitted; connecting it to your supply is a licensed electrician’s job.
- Site preparation, a level base, or foundations.
- Any permits or planning approvals. Requirements for a detached outbuilding vary by state, county and city — check with your local building department before ordering.
- Furniture and interior fit-out.
Delivery
Delivery is free to the 48 contiguous states, as set out in our shipping policy. Because the pod ships flat-packed rather than as a finished module, it does not need the long tilt-bed approach a container requires — but you will still need clear access for the delivery vehicle and somewhere dry to stage the panels before assembly.
Warranty and returns
Atlas does not publish a warranty term on this unit — see our warranty policy. Returns are covered by our refund and returns policy. If a warranty matters to your purchase, ask us in writing before you order.
