Description
Dressing Room Space in an Aluminum Two-Horse
Most two-horse bumper pulls make you choose between a compact trailer and somewhere to put your gear. The 2016 Shadow 2STW-BP splits the difference: a 4 ft short wall paired with a 4 ft long wall creates a genuine front dressing room without stretching the trailer into gooseneck territory. Saddles, blankets and grooming supplies live up front, out of the horse area and out of the weather.
Interior height is the other reason to look at this one. At 7 ft 6 in inside it suits horses up to roughly 22.5 hands, which is meaningfully more headroom than the 7 ft that many two-horse trailers offer, and it makes a difference to how settled a tall horse travels. The box runs 17 ft with an outside width of 7 ft, and it is described as clean as new.
All-aluminum construction with an aluminum floor is the durability story here. There is no wood to rot beneath the mats and no steel frame to corrode where mud collects, which is why aluminum trailers of this age still present well. A side escape door gives you a safe way out after loading, tandem 3,500 lb axles ride on 15 in tires, and a spare tire and manual jack come with it.

The dressing room adds length, so the 17 ft box is longer than a basic two-horse and you should factor that into parking, turning radius and whether it fits where you store trailers at home. Against the 7,000 lb GVWR, two horses plus tack leaves sensible margin for most three-quarter-ton trucks and many properly equipped half-tons, but weigh your real load rather than working from averages.
When it arrives, give it the standard once-over: floor and mats, brake response on each wheel, tire date codes, and the wiring at the plug and the light housings. Aluminum trailers of this vintage usually need very little, but knowing the condition before the first loaded trip is worth the half hour.
Atlas covers freight to the Lower 48 at no charge, with Puerto Rico at a flat $550 and delivery generally four to ten days after the bank transfer clears. Look through the rest of the catalog for other configurations, or narrow it down within two horse trailers.
