Description
A Well-Kept Aluminum Slant Load With Everything in Its Place
Some used trailers are bought on price and some on condition. This 2015 4 Star is the second kind: an aluminum two horse slant load in very good condition, clearly cared for, and specified with the sort of details that owners add when they actually use a trailer rather than park it. It measures 7 ft wide, 11 ft 6 in. long and 7 ft tall, riding on two 3,500 lb torsion axles with electric brakes.
The slant-load layout puts horses on a natural diagonal, which many owners find helps them balance and settle over a long drive. Airflow is well handled from both ends, with barred drop-down windows on the head side and further drop-downs on the butt side, plus two pop-up two-way roof vents. Heavy-duty rubber mats cover the horse area, a padded divider separates the pair, and a padded butt bar spans the rear opening so nothing hard sits where a horse might swing into it.
Storage is where this one really earns its keep. The rear tack room carries two saddle racks and two blanket bars, with ten bridle hooks, two feed bags and two brush trays sorting out the smaller gear, while the dressing room has gray carpet on the floor and a locking door for anything worth securing. Lighting is generous by two-horse standards: five dome lights, three halogen load lights and extra-height turn signals, along with inside and outside horse ties.

Torsion axles suspend each wheel independently in rubber, which generally rides smoother than leaf springs and has nothing to grease, though the trade-off is that a worn torsion axle is replaced rather than rebuilt, so check ride height side to side. Test the electric brakes through your own controller, look over the floor under the mats, and check tire age as well as tread. A bumper pull hitches to a standard ball, stores easily and leaves your truck bed free, which is a large part of why this format stays popular even among people who could tow a gooseneck.
