Anyone who has spent ten minutes shovelling wet clay out of a half-tipped dump bed understands why lift design matters. This new 2024 Griffin GT-716/TELE uses a three-stage telescopic cylinder instead of a single scissor hoist, which raises the front of the bed far higher and holds a steeper dump angle right through the cycle. Soaked topsoil, mulch and sticky demolition debris slide out under their own weight rather than packing into the front corners.
The rest of the trailer is built to the same standard. A 14,000 lb GVWR over a 7 ft by 16 ft box leaves 9,145 lbs of payload, the walls and floor are 10-gauge smooth steel on an 80 in. C-channel frame, and the whole thing wears a high-gloss black powder coat that stands up to loading abrasion better than paint. A 12V DC hydraulic pump raises and lowers the bed under power, drawing on a deep cycle marine battery, with the control box mounted up front where you can actually reach it.
At the back, a two-way combination spreader and barn gate gives you a genuine choice at the drop point: swing it wide for a clean pile, or crack the spreader for an even lay-down of gravel as you pull forward.

Match the rating to the material, not the volume. Sand, wet gravel and broken concrete reach 9,145 lbs long before they fill a 7×16 box, so a full load of dense material is the real test of your tow vehicle and hitch rating rather than a heaped load of brush. The fender-mounted channel ramps turn the same trailer into an equipment hauler for a mini excavator or compact skid steer, and the five floor D-rings are there to chain those machines down properly. On arrival, check tire pressures and put the battery on a charger before the first tip cycle.
