Container Buyers Guide
Everything You Need to Buy With Confidence
New to buying shipping containers? This guide walks you through choosing the right condition, size, and delivery setup — so you get the perfect unit the first time.
1Choose Your Container Condition
Condition (or “grade”) affects both price and appearance. Here’s how the options compare.
New / One-Trip
Manufactured recently and shipped only once. Minimal wear and a near-new appearance — ideal when looks matter.
Cargo-Worthy (CW)
Graded for continued shipping use. Wind & watertight with normal cosmetic wear.
Wind & Watertight (WWT)
Structurally sound and weatherproof with surface wear from prior service. The most cost-effective choice for storage.
As-Is
Sold in current condition and may have damage. Priced accordingly — review the details before buying.
2Pick the Right Size
From compact 10ft units to spacious 40ft High Cubes — match the size to your space and how much you need to store.
10ft
10′ × 8′ × 8′6″
Compact and easy to place. Great for tight sites, tools, and small-scale storage.
20ft
20′ × 8′ × 8′6″
Our most popular size — about 160 sq ft. Perfect for general storage and most projects.
40ft
40′ × 8′ × 8′6″
Double the capacity (~320 sq ft) for large inventory, equipment, and bulk storage.
40ft High Cube
40′ × 8′ × 9′6″
An extra foot of height for tall cargo and container conversions like offices and homes.
3Plan Your Delivery
We deliver across the Lower 48 on specialized tilt-bed trailers. A little prep ensures a smooth, safe drop-off.
- Level, firm ground — gravel or concrete keeps the unit stable and the doors aligned.
- Clear overhead — no low power lines or branches; the truck bed tilts up high.
- Straight access — allow up to ~100 ft of clearance for a 40ft delivery.
- Mark placement — decide the exact spot and which way the doors should face.
- Be on site — someone to direct the driver makes placement quick and precise.
