Description

Two Ramps, Two-Way Vents and a Tack Room That Is Ready

Side-ramp two-horse trailers do not come up often, and a Hawk with both a rear ramp and a 54 in side ramp is worth a second look. Ramps change the loading conversation entirely for horses that hesitate at a step-up, and having two of them means you can pick the angle that suits the space you are parked in rather than working around a single fixed option.

The build is a deliberate mix rather than a compromise. An aluminum body sheds weight and resists corrosion, a galvanized steel frame carries the structural loads with the rust protection baked in, and a fiberglass top keeps the roof light and leak-resistant. That combination ages better than an all-steel trailer without giving up strength.

Ventilation is unusually good. Both ramp doors latch back during travel so air moves through the box at speed, two-way roof vents sit over each stall, and sliding windows on the sides and in the rear doors let you fine-tune the airflow. Up front, a bulkhead window and sliding nose windows bring light into the dressing room and the head area.

Inside, the walls, divider, chest bars and butt bars are all nicely padded, with rubber-lined walls for further protection, and the head divider is removable so you can open the space up for a single horse. The dressing room is fully equipped: saddle racks, bridle hooks, a blanket bar and a brush box are all already there.

If you have a horse that loads badly onto a step-up, a ramp trailer is often the whole solution, and the side ramp here gives you a second approach when the rear is blocked or the ground falls away. Do check the ramp springs and hinges when the trailer arrives, since ramps are the part that gets the most use and the least maintenance on a used rig.

The rest of the used-trailer routine applies: lift the mats and look at the floor, confirm the brakes and lights work on every circuit, and check where the aluminum body meets the steel frame for any corrosion at the joints. Tires under a year old take one common expense off the list.

Shipping is on us for the Lower 48, Puerto Rico runs a flat $550, and most orders land four to ten days after the bank transfer settles. Similar rigs are listed under two horse trailers, and our 30-day returns give you a window to be sure it suits your horses.
